I don't know why I can't answer twice, so I'll add it here! Here's a couple recipes that are easy but he won't know it!
Darn! Meant to say, you can use shrimp instead of chicken in this one %26amp; it's sooo good!
Chicken %26amp; Broccoli Alfredo with Peppers
Chicken, raw-diced (boneless/skinless is easiest, I usually use 1 large breast) 1/2 sliced onion 1 1/2 cups diced peppers (I use green, red, yellow - whatever) garlic, salt, pepper to taste: add all into large frying pan (use olive oil or butter if not a non-stick pan) cook on medium til done. Pour in 1 jar alfredo sauce, add 1/4 cup milk to the empty jar, shake it up, pour that in, simmer on low while you cook the pasta (I do 4 servings of linguine) %26amp; steam or microwave the fresh broccoli florets. If you want to cheat on the broccoli, thaw frozen florets ahead of time %26amp; cook right in the pasta pot. Put pasta on plate, then broccoli, and spoon alfredo mix over it. This takes me about 45 minutes, start to finish, but it's easier than it sounds! And tastes great with garlic bread %26amp; salad, or alone!
Steak or Pork Stir Fry
Steak or pork, cut into strips. Package of frozen stir fry veggies, pre-made jar sauce or package you mix- I use teriyaki or sweet and sour. 1/2 can pineapple chunks (drained) Rice or thin noodles. Start rice now if using non-instant. Mix meat, sauce %26amp; pineapple in frying pan, cook on medium until meat is done. While that's cooking, start instant rice or noodles cooking AND the veggies. I microwave the veggies for 2 minutes less than the package says %26amp; toss them in the sauce mix for 2 minutes instead. Mix meat/veggies, put on top of rice or pasta. Sprinkle it with sesame seeds if you want to dress it up.
Hope these make sense! Any questions, ask. I have a good spaghetti pie recipe too. Good luck!
What kinds of food does he like? Or dislike, for that matter? I have a few recipes for chicken, steak, broccoli, alfredo but it would help to have more info about his %26amp; your tastes.I want to make dinner for my boyfriend. What are recipes of quick, easy foods that are also fancy looking?
I would spend time making some yummy and cute appetizers. My fiancee (who also likes food of all kinds) really loves hammy roll-ups. buy a pound of that cheap rectangle ham--';deli ham'; not the fancy honey or smoked. spread room temp cream cheese on each piece. roll up a washed green onion in it, then carefully slice (about 1/2 in) so that you have cute swirls of ham. If you don't like green onion, you can also use pickle instead.
you could also buy some of those mine egg rolls-mmmm
Whatever you serve, make it well-rounded. serve bread w/maybe some seasonings and olive oil for dipping, a veggie, and dessert--you could do shortcake or buy one of those sara lee square cakes.
set the table nice, clean up the kitchen some, light a few candles etc. :)
Oh, and if you have time/motivation, this link is good and easy, too. :)even if you've never roasted a chicken.I want to make dinner for my boyfriend. What are recipes of quick, easy foods that are also fancy looking?

Serve with scallopped potatoes or gratin potatoes, and steamed asparagus or green beans.
Or
Grill up a couple of chicken breasts and slice them, fan them over spaghetti---easy and elegant looking

If the sky's the limit, seafood is expensive but fancy- mussels and shrimp are quick and easy, toss it onto some pasta with some parmesan and heavy cream- yum. Get a little extra cream and make creme brulee- it's actually very simple, but so rich and fancy. Good luck!
